A LITTLE ABOUT ME

I am Martin Tsatskin, a first-generation American with both my parents immigrating from Ukraine in the 70s. I grew up speaking both English and Russian fluently, which has proven to be a great asset in my career as a mortgage broker.

I was born in Chicago and moved to Arizona when I was young. I graduated from high school in 1995 and earned a double major in International Business and Economics from Pepperdine University in 1999.

Before starting my career in the mortgage industry, I was a caregiver for my mother who suffered a major stroke, leaving her paralyzed and speechless. I lived with her for eight years, acting as her caregiver in all capacities until she passed away in 2017. This experience taught me how to take care of someone and provided me with valuable customer service skills that have translated well into my work as a mortgage broker.

In 2016, I began my career in the mortgage industry with loanDepot in their ACES program. During my three years with the company as a mortgage loan originator, I was awarded the first-ever company-wide Customer Service award for having 100% evaluations on all my loans in a quarter.

In 2019, I left loanDepot and went to work at Allied First, where I learned the skills of a mortgage broker. I gained a deeper understanding of the loan process and what
happens on the operational side when the loan leaves the loan officer’s hands and moves into the processor’s hands. I also learned how to build relationships with Account Executives (AE) from various wholesale lending institutions, and gained a thorough understanding of how a mortgage business is run.

When COVID-19 hit in 2020, I took a sabbatical from the industry to focus on improving my health. I immersed myself in fitness education through research on the web and social media. In less than a year, I went from weighing 225 pounds and having other symptoms due to my weight, to weighing 175 pounds, eating right, and working out religiously 5-6 times a week. After getting my health back, I had a decision to make. I could go back to work for an employer or start my own brokerage.

In 2021, I teamed up with a business partner to create Astin Mortgage from the ground up. We specialize in residential purchases and refinances, and we carry pretty much any type of loan program available for residential homes. I am passionate about helping clients achieve their homeownership goals and providing them with exceptional customer service. I take pride in my ability to build strong relationships with my clients, which is reflected in the many positive reviews and referrals I receive.

With my extensive experience, skills, and dedication to my clients, I am a trusted and reliable mortgage broker who can help guide you through the complex process of purchasing or refinancing a home.
